About SMRN

Southern Midlands Regional News is an independent, local, monthly publication which began production in Oatlands 50 years ago. It is distributed and sold in various stores and outlets across the Southern Midlands municipality.

The publication (averaging ~40 pages) sells for $2.00 – its original price! A hard copy is available by post for an annual subscription, or if preferred, a PDF file can be emailed.

The Southern Midlands Regional News comprises a group of contributors who are all unpaid volunteers. They can design advertisements and community notices, conduct interviews and research stories for publication. We supply electronic PDF proofs for customer approval. We welcome your contributions and story ideas.

The deadline for all material is usually the 21st of each month. A reminder email is sent to each regular contributor around the 10th of the month. If you have material but it is not available by the deadline, a placeholder can be inserted.
