The Bargain Centre, your local op shop,
is open seven days a week
from 10:00am to 4:00pm

The shop accepts cash only,
but there are ATMs at the Post Office
and near the IGA Supermarket.

The Bargain Centre is a local ‘op shop’ and donations are welcome—but dumping your rubbish is not! We are all trying to save taking goods to landfill but old, torn, dirty, worn and smelly items will not sell and are nothing but a burden to the business. Used socks and underwear are not sold in the Oatlands Bargain Centre and electrical items cannot be sold.

Volunteers run the Bargain Centre. There are new volunteers who are keen to help and are hoping to meet you soon. Come along and do the op shop thing – hunt for super bargains and discuss the woes of the world. You may even be able to help us by identifying some of the more obscure items which come in through the door.

The Bargain Centre also accepts Stock on Commission (SOC). These items are limited to 20 per month. Space is limited and the shop cannot handle larger drop-offs. You might be asked to take excess items back to bring in another time. The shop asks SOC members to sign an agreement reminding them that all care is taken of their stock but no responsibility.

Community Payout

In addition to paying commission to members of the community for goods sold, the Bargain Centre also contributes to the community. The Manager, Karen Dudgeon, declared its community payout in the financial year to 30 June 2024 was its best-ever. The profit, to be shared among 18 groups, was $31,064.46. A total of 21 volunteers worked 2689.25 hours, which worked out to be $11.55 per hour.
